At Antwerp Management School (AMS), we seek an early career faculty member (post-doc or assistant professor) who is passionate about shaping the next generation of leaders through innovative teaching, impactful research, and active engagement with industry and society. As a professor at AMS, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education across our Advanced Master’s programs and Executive Education portfolio, guiding both early-career professionals and seasoned executives in their lifelong learning or executive PhD journeys.
We are particularly looking for a faculty member who operates at the intersection of sustainable strategy, innovation and multi-level transitions — three pillars that are essential to driving sustainable value in today’s complex and fast-changing business environment. In these domains, you bring a solid academic background with a strong foundation in applied research and a demonstrated interest in phenomenon-based research in collaboration with industry partners. Your research approach is oriented toward real-world relevance, contributing to both academic advancement and practical impact on individuals, organizations and society.
In addition to your teaching and research contributions, you are involved in curriculum leadership and development, program quality assurance, fostering a vibrant learning community as well as leading work packages in international research projects

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and teach graduate (MBA/MSc), and/or executive education courses.
- Contribute to curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods.
- Act as academic director of degree or non-degree learning journeys.
- Supervise doctoral and master's level research students.
- Attract, supervise and executive nationally and internationally funded research projects.
- Engage in collaboration with industry partners, public organizations, and the wider community.
- Publish relevant and high-quality research findings in impactful academic and practitioner's journals & media.
- Actively contribute to the valorization of research and thought leadership into products and services with societal impact.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the department.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives within the school.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Strategy, Management, Innovation, Organizational Behavior, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrating excellence in teaching and curriculum development across various levels of instruction.
- A sound interest in phenomenon / industry - based research, including publications in academic and practice-oriented journals and media.
- Evidence of service contributions, and involvement in professional associations or editorial boards.
- Ability to work effectively in a collegial and interdisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An applied research agenda that aligns with emerging challenges in innovation and societal transitions.
- Track record or a strong commitment to securing research funding or leading funded research projects.
- Practical engagement or industry experience of consulting experience with organizations
- Fluency in English and Dutch.
- An add-on would be specialization in one of the following domains: design thinking, new technologies & AI, transitions in eco-systems.
