The Department of Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for an Associate or Full Professor with specializations in organizational behavior, human resources management, and/or organizational research methods. The expected start date is August 2026. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The successful hire may be considered for the Raymond F. Orr Endowed Chair in Management. The job duties include research, teaching, and service. Working with doctoral students and other faculty to conduct and publish research in the top academic journals in management is the primary job duty. Teaching expectations include teaching in person classes at the undergraduate, masters, or doctoral level, and holding in person office hours. The college requires service to the profession, university, and department at a level consistent with faculty rank. We also expect faculty to actively engage in department, college, and university activities at a level consistent with the AACSB designation of a participating faculty member.
Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in management specializing in organizational behavior, human resources management, and/or organizational research methods or a Ph.D. in a related discipline (e.g., industrial/organizational psychology) from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university
Demonstrated record of publications in top-tier management journals commensurate with rank
Demonstrated record of teaching and service activities commensurate with rank
Candidates must have the ability and interest to teach courses in organizational behavior, human resources management, and/or organizational research methods
Candidates must meet standards to be classified as a Scholarly Academic for AACSB purposes
Candidates should have a record of research, teaching, and service that would warrant the awarding of tenure in the Department of Management at the University of Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications
A strong research record and demonstrated leadership roles in research projects that result in publications in top tier management journals
Strong pipeline of research consistent with the candidate’s current rank
Demonstrated ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom and value collegiality
A record of working with junior colleagues and developing doctoral students
A record of contribution to a doctoral program by mentoring doctoral students, chairing dissertation committees, and developing and teaching doctoral courses
Demonstrated active engagement with on-campus environment and participation in on-campus activities
The Department of Management is comprised of faculty focusing their research in the broad areas of human resources management and organizational behavior. The tenured and tenure-track faculty include: John Delery, Ekonkar Kaur, Christopher Rosen, Lauren Simon, Adam Stoverink, Kristina Tirol-Carmody, and Michael Wilmot.
