The mission of the College of Business and Public Management (CBPM), home of the Department of Management, is to provide high quality - high value education through excellence in teaching and scholarship, community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experiential learning. CBPM is an AACSB accredited school. The Department of Management faculty continually strives to ensure that students are armed with the requisite concepts and skills that would enable them to succeed academically and professionally. For AACSB SA-qualified faculty, the teaching load is 3-4. Faculty typically teach at least two different course preparations per academic year. Winter and Summer teaching compensation is incremental to the base teaching load, as is internship supervision. AACSB SA-qualified faculty may also apply for a summer research stipend, equivalent to the compensation for teaching one summer course.
The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses that may be offered in in-person, online (asynchronous), and hybrid format. The primary teaching responsibility will focus on courses in Business and Society which involves analyzing the social, political, legal, environment, and ethical challenges faced by business firms along with other Management courses related to Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills and demonstrate strong attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department’s students. Their experience, substantive specialization, and pedagogical training will serve to strengthen the department's mission and vision. The faculty will collaborate with other departmental and college faculty & staff to ensure student success.
Responsibilities include:
Teach and provide instructional learning at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels coursework in the Management program. Additional teaching assignment/courses within area of specialization may be assigned depending on department needs
Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations
Advise and mentor students
Contribute to maintaining the college's AACSB accreditation
Serve the University and the community through participation in various committees
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
D. in Business Administration or Management from an AACSB accredited program ABD will be considered – Doctoral dissertation must be successfully completed on or before August 2025
