The Experiential Leadership Development Lab (ELDL) at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate to begin in the summer of 2024.
The post-doctoral researcher will work closely with faculty primarily on research projects focused on the management and assessment of large experiential educational interventions conducted under randomized, controlled conditions; the analysis of all data, including that from physiological signals; and the write up and distribution of research results. The successful candidate will have significant experience with theory development, experimental and survey research, and data analysis and writing of research papers. This position is designed as a full-time position to advance several research projects of the Experiential Leadership Development Lab. It is, in this regard, unlike post-doc positions affording significant time for the independent research of the position holder.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A PhD from a social science discipline (ideally, social psychology, organizational behavior, or communications) with significant experience running in-person and online experiments is required by the start date. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to contribute intellectually to and manage multirole research projects, including the ability to collaborate with and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Knowledge of Qualtrics, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Prolific, SPSS, R and other statistical programs is required.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Apply online on the UVA Job Board, attach a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references. In accordance with University policy, background checks are conducted on all new hires prior to employment. Please note that incomplete applications will not receive full consideration.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Review of applications will begin on April 12, 2024.
This is a one-year appointment, with renewal for a second year available contingent upon outstanding performance.
