The SUNY Cortland Economics Department is accepting applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship beginning in Fall 2024. This position is offered as part of the PRODiG+ (Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth) program designed to advance SUNY’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Throughout the fellowship, the successful candidate will receive mentoring on how to thrive as a faculty member at a comprehensive college, balancing the demands of teaching and research.Upon completion of the two year fellowship, the candidate will have the opportunity to be considered for a tenure-track position.
The successful candidate will become a part of our dynamic and expanding Economics Department, which boasts over 500 undergraduate majors and includes fourteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Our diverse curriculum supports undergraduate majors in economics and business economics, as well as our emerging interdisciplinary programs in entrepreneurship and health management. The Economics Department faculty are dedicated teachers, productive scholars, and engaged members of the campus community. Teaching
Teach a reduced load of 12 credits per year (6 credits per semester) for the duration of the two-year program. The teaching load will include the opportunity to teach at least one course per year which addresses equity and inclusion as part of its content.
Maintain regular office hours and provide advising and mentoring to students in support of an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
Scholarship/Research
Develop an active research agenda.
Service
Regularly engage in service to the department, school, college, and community.
