Description The College of Business at Stony Brook University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Strategic Management and Artificial Intelligence, to join the Organizational Behavior,Strategy, and Entrepreneurship group. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2026.
The position offers a competitive teaching load (three courses per academic year), competitive research support, and a salary commensurate with qualifications, rank, academic record, and experience. We are particularly interested in candidates who integrate strategic management and artificial intelligence in ways that advance research, pedagogy, and business practice.
We seek a dynamic and productive scholar with an active research agenda and a strong publication record in top-tier journals (UTD24/FT50). Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching strategy and cutting-edge topics at the intersection of AI, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in the strategic applications of AI in business (such as corporate strategy, entrepreneurship, and/or innovation) and be prepared to develop and teach courses on AI's role in business, including one as part of a forthcoming specialization in AI for Business Innovation. Our college values interdisciplinary work and candidates should demonstrate interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly within STEM (e.g., computer science, data science, and engineering). Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (three courses per year) in strategy and related areas (e.g., AI and business strategy, technology strategy, innovation management).
Conduct and publish high-impact research in leading peer-reviewed journals at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Strategy/Entrepreneurship.
Contribute to the intellectual community through collaborative research, seminars, and interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly in areas involving technology, analytics, and business innovation.
Supervise and mentor undergraduate, MS, and MBA students in research and professional development.
Contribute to curriculum development in strategy and AI, including the design of interdisciplinary electives and experiential learning modules.
Provide service to the College and University through activities such as committee participation, support for accreditation efforts (e.g., AACSB), and engagement with community and industry.
Build and maintain partnerships with industry, entrepreneurial networks, and venture ecosystems.
Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, creativity, and mentorship to create an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures can meet their full potential, thrive and help fulfill the role of the College of Business in SBU's mission.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related discipline.
A minimum of three years of experience at the rank of Assistant Professor (or equivalent, i.e. a post doc or industry research experience).
A strong record of publication in top-tier journals (i.e., UTD24 and FT50 lists) in strategy, entrepreneurship, or management
Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Evidence of research and/or teaching that integrates AI with Strategy and/or Entrepreneurship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference for candidates at the Associate Professor level.
Research that complements existing faculty interests in innovation, economic sociology, or micro-foundations of strategy/entrepreneurship.
Successful acquisition or strong potential to secure external funding through competitive grant applications.
Experience in industry engagement or translational research involving AI-enabled strategic initiatives.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.
