Porto Business School (PBS) is seeking a dedicated and innovative full-time Research Lecturer in Data Analytics and AI.
We are particularly looking for candidates who can complement and enhance our existing research and teaching capabilities in the following areas:
Core Fundamentals of Data Analytics and AI
AI for Business Applications
Data Collection, Cleaning, and Preprocessing
Machine Learning Models and Algorithms
Data Visualization and Interpretation
Ethics and Responsible AI Practices
The ideal candidate will combine a strong academic background with substantial industry experience and proven teaching excellence. The successful applicant is expected to produce high-quality research, with a commitment to publishing in reputable academic journals. They will play a key role in strengthening PBS’s contributions to knowledge and thought leadership in Data Analytics and AI.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. A strong academic record, demonstrated through research publications, conference presentations, and other scholarly contributions, is essential.
We seek applicants with substantial practical experience in Data Analytics and AI, ideally with industry exposure. Experience in areas such as data-driven decision-making, machine learning, and data mining is highly valued. A track record of applying data analytics and AI techniques to solve real-world business problems is required.
Previous teaching experience, particularly in executive education, MBAs, or postgraduate programs, is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong pedagogical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse student groups. Evidence of innovative teaching practices, including the use of case studies, projects, and industry collaborations, will be considered a plus.
