Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), founded in 1920 in Harbin, administered by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, established its branch campuses in Shenzhen and Weihai, along with local research institutes in Chongqing, Zhengzhou, and Suzhou. HIT was among the first six leading universities in 1954 and later joined the "C9 League" of Chinese universities. Recognized as the "Cradle of Engineers," HIT has pioneered advancements including 8 disciplines were selected in the new round of “Double First-Class” list.
As one of the earliest Chinese higher institutions to establish majors of economics and management, HIT business majors were originated from 1928. In 1955, Department of Engineering Economics was established as China’s first department in engineering colleges. In 1984, with the approval of Ministry of Education, SoM was officially established as one of the first schools of management in China. SoM became the first AMBA-accredited school in Northeast China in 2012, and passed CAMEA (Chinese Advanced Management Education Accreditation) and AMBA re-accreditation in 2017. In 2021, SoM passed AACSB accreditation.

Navigator Scholar (Chair Professor)
Application Criteria:
Leading talents in the forefront of worldwide science and technology, conducting original research and key technology research, and having made high-level academic achievements and outstanding contributions.
Excellent Young Talent Science Fund Project (Professor)
Application Criteria:
Outstanding young scholars (non-Chinese foreign talents are included) who have prominent achievements in natural sciences, engineering technology, and other fields, with an age not exceeding 40 years old.
Shenzhou Scholar (Professor/Associate Professor)
Application Criteria:
Outstanding talents with recognition from domestic and foreign peers. Applicants for Shenzhou Scholars (Professor) shall be within the age of 38, and applicants for Shenzhou Young Scholars (Associate Professor or above) shall be within the age of 32. For exceptionally outstanding applicant, the age line is negotiable.
Associate Researcher or Assistant Researcher (Post-doctoral Fellow)
Application Criteria:
Excellent young talents who have obtained a doctoral degree or Ph.D. candidate; applicants for Associate Researcher generally shall be within the age of 32, and applicant for Assistant Researcher shall be within the age of 35. Ph.D. Student can apply for the “Chunyan Talent Plan” and are recruited as the university reserved faculty member.
