Africa Business School invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, in Strategic Management field: (strategizing, digital transformation in strategic management)
We seek scholars who are not only outstanding researchers and excellent teachers but are also passionate about addressing real-world challenges in Africa through their work. The ideal candidate(s) will possess a strong academic background, a demonstrated track record of high-quality research, and a passion for teaching and mentoring students within a context-relevant framework. The successful applicant will be a key contributor to the school’s research agenda, teach graduate and executive courses, and actively participate in service activities that enrich the academic and professional community at ABS, all while aligning with ABS's strategic priorities for research impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Innovation: Conduct high-quality, rigorous research, specifically focusing on innovative solutions addressing African challenges and real-world problems in the African context; Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals (targeting publications in outlets like ABS 3/4/4*, FT-50) and contribute to the global academic community; Actively seek external funding for research and innovation projects; Establish and nurture partnerships with industry and other academic institutions to facilitate research impact and implementation; Engage in interdisciplinary research collaborations, both internally and externally.
Teaching: Develop and teach courses the graduate and executive program levels, utilizing a wide range of methodologies and approaches, informed by current research and industry developments; Translate research insights into tangible solutions, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship aligned with ABS’s action learning approach; Supervise and mentor Master’s and Doctoral (PhD and DBA) students, integrating themes of contextualized problem-solving.
Service: Contribute to curriculum development and academic program management, ensuring relevance to the African context; Actively participate in academic and administrative service for institution building.

Qualifications & Requirements:
A Ph.D. in the field of the application from a recognized top-tier institution.
A strong publication record in peer-reviewed academic journals and case studies outlets, demonstrating research excellence.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level and executive programs.
Experience in supervising PhD/DBA students.
Ability to contribute to the school’s research initiatives and secure external funding.
Commitment to academic service and community engagement.
Experience with real-world applications; experience with challenges relevant to Africa is a plus.
