Faculty Positions in the Business Foundations Program
The Ivey Business School at Western University, London, Ontario seeks candidates for up to seven full-time limited-term teaching positions at the rank of Lecturer in the Business Foundations program. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one of the following: four-year honours (HBA) degree in commerce/business administration, a discipline-appropriate MSc degree, an MBA degree, or a PhD in management, business, or a related discipline. Experience and familiarity with the case method will be an asset. The Limited Term appointment positions will be for two years, beginning in early May 2026 and ending in early May 2028. Successful candidates will be required to attend paid training on a full-time basis in May and June 2026.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach up to three sections of Business 1220E, Business 1299E, or Business 2257 during the winter and/or summer academic sessions in each of their two years. These undergraduate courses are student-centered, case-based and developed and taught by the Ivey Business School and available to students across the University. Business 1299E is a required course for engineering students; as a result, those applicants who also have an engineering degree are encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will be responsible for all activities related to teaching the course, case writing, curriculum development, writing and setting of exams, managing case competitions, training new Lecturers, managing and recruiting teaching assistants and providing academic guidance to students. Successful candidates are also expected to perform service activities such as, but not limited to, teaching high school case classes and judging case competitions. Vacation entitlements must be taken during July and August of 2026 and 2027 respectively in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and administrative staff within the Ivey Business School and the broader university community. Consideration of applicants will focus on qualifications, professional experience, interpersonal skills, and the ability to contribute to teaching and leadership. The successful candidate will exhibit strong communication abilities, cultural competence, and the capacity to foster positive relationships across diverse groups.
