Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics (CATÓLICA-LISBON) invites applications for a full-time Affiliate Professor in Strategy, Organizations & Entrepreneurship, to start September 1st, 2025. The role focuses on teaching and academic management, with research activity being a plus.
We are looking for applicants with outstanding teaching track record and exceptional academic mentorship skills. We require expertise in teaching Business Ethics, with capabilities in teaching Strategy and/or Leadership a plus. Academic publications or industry experience are beneficial but not required. We offer a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, with a base contract of Assistant Professor with exclusivity and the status of Affiliate Professor.

Faculty
CATÓLICA-LISBON provides a stimulating working environment and strong connection to industry partners while endeavoring to achieve high standards of teaching and support to students. The core research faculty consists of close to 50 members with doctorates from top programs in North America (including Columbia, NYU, Princeton and Stanford) and in Europe (including INSEAD, LBS, City University of London, Ecole Polytechnique, and Tilburg). Affiliate professors represent about a fourth of the resident career faculty at CATÓLICA-LISBON. The SOE area includes 12 career faculty, of which six are international and three are included in Stanford’s list of the 2% more impactful scientists in the world. Its members span the sub-areas of Strategy, Organization Theory, Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Sustainability, Innovation and Ethics. They have published articles in the top journals in the management and ethics fields.

It is a thriving cultural hub with a vibrant restaurant scene, diverse artistic activities and sporting events, good public transportation, a public healthcare system, historic architecture, among the best weather in Europe, and easy access to world-class beaches. Position Requirements
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Strategy, Management, Organizations, Entrepreneurship or Ethics or a closely related field from a recognized institution by the appointment date. Expertise in teaching Business Ethics, particularly from the perspective of the Catholic tradition, is a requisite for the position. Expertise in teaching Strategy and/or Leadership is a plus. Applicants are expected to deliver high-quality teaching, coordinate programs, advise students at undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in committees, advise student clubs, as well as to build and maintain industry partnerships. Applicants must be motivated to engage with students in the classroom. Affiliate positions involve teaching the equivalent of 6 courses per year in English at the undergraduate, MSc, and/or MBA levels. Affiliate faculty may also be invited to engage in executive education programs. The ideal applicant will understand and develop the skills today's business and economics students need. They should be familiar with recent pedagogical approaches, innovative in the classroom through experiential learning, real-world applications, and industry partnerships. Additionally, the applicant should have a strong desire to contribute to the growth of the school and the reinforcement of the SOE area.

Selected applicants will be invited for campus visits on April 21 and 22.
About CATÓLICA-LISBON School of Business & Economics
CATÓLICA-LISBON’s Business and Economics Research Unit is called CUBE and was created in 1997. It includes all of the research Faculty of the School as well as full-time researchers with a doctoral degree who work with the Faculty to advance the state of knowledge in their fields. CUBE has over fifty members and is led by a Faculty Director who manages a small team of research support staff who do financial project management, researchers management, dissemination activities and Faculty support activities.
In periodic assessments by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation’s (FCT) panels of international experts, CUBE has received the highest grade of Excellent since evaluations started 20 years ago. In 2013 it was considered the top research center for all social sciences in Portugal with a rating of 24.5 out of 25. In the most recent evaluation of 2019 which was done in different disciplinary fields, CUBE was considered the top research unit in Portugal in Management research.
