POSITION TITLE: Tenure Track Faculty - Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

This is a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2025
As a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and awardee of the Seal of Excelencia certification, Sacramento State is hiring a cohort of faculty who will support our commitment to Latinx/e student success during the 2024-25 tenure-track hiring cycle. We are looking for teacher/scholars who have an established commitment to teaching, research, and/or service in and with the Latinx/e community. Successful candidates will have demonstrated two or more of the four Latinx/e Student Success Cohort Hire Criteria (see Required Qualifications below).
JOB DUTIES:
Teaching that fosters inclusive and equitable student success (Graduate and Undergraduate Courses in traditional, hybrid, and on-line modalities);
Scholarly and Creative Activities (with an emphasis on publication of peer reviewed journal articles);
Service/Contributions to the Institution;
Service/Contributions to the Community;
Student Advising; and
New course development and making changes to existing courses; Curriculum development; Assessment; and Supervising student (graduate and undergraduate) research.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A Doctorate in Entrepreneurship or in another closely related discipline.
The doctorate degree must be from program(s) accredited by AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS or an equivalent accreditation.
Applicants in the dissertation stage (ABD) of doctoral study will be considered; however, all requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed by June 2026 to remain eligible for continued employment.
Experience:
Applicants with a record of demonstrated commitment to, or potential for, developing relationships with the community to support Entrepreneurship education and experiences, or the ability to work with the diverse student populations.
Latinx/e Student Success Cohort Criteria (demonstrate two or more of the following):
Excellence in teaching Latinx/e students;
Effective service (e.g., advising, mentoring) to Latinx/e students;
Research, scholarship, and/or creative artistic expression focused on the Latinx/e community;
Knowledge (professional background and/or training experiences) that advances our institutional commitment to Latinx/e student success.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Knowledge and Abilities:
Applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching, research, mentoring, and industry experience in Entrepreneurship, and, secondarily, in Strategy and Corporate Entrepreneurship and/or Global Business, Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship.
Applicants with a demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to innovative teaching strategies to foster inclusive and equitable student success (both online and classroom setting) in higher education
Applicants with a demonstrated capacity and willingness to utilize instructional technology in teaching; commitment to engage in scholarly activities that include both practice-based studies and academic research.
Experiences:
Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to, or potential for developing academic curriculum in Entrepreneurship, including campus imperatives such as creating new undergraduate, or graduate-level, Entrepreneurship courses or Entrepreneurship programs (e.g. Minor in Entrepreneurship).
A record of demonstrated commitment to, or potential for, collaborating with the Entrepreneurship Centers or an equivalent on campus for the purpose of creating synergies and coordinating efforts between the University's Entrepreneurship events/initiatives and the Strategy & Entrepreneurship Department's academic offerings.

Salary Information: The estimated starting salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and professional experience.
