The Department of Management in the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond invites applications for two (2) full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year.
We seek dedicated teacher-scholars with research and teaching interests in strategic management who will teach 5 courses per year (approximately 20-24 students per section) at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Although the bulk of their teaching responsibilities will be in strategic management, they may also be called on to teach in our international business and/or management consulting programs. In addition to excellence in the classroom, research leading to publications in the top academic journals in management is also required. The successful candidates are also expected to provide service to the department and school. Consistent with these requirements, the successful candidates will have demonstrated competence in both research and teaching to a degree that is expected for their stage of career. A Ph.D. in Strategic Management or a related field is required by the time of appointment. Candidates with experience in research or teaching in international business or with consulting experience will be given preference.
The Department of Management is a highly collegial and productive group of scholars who value both excellent teaching and impactful research and publication. Collaboration on research projects provides important opportunities for mentoring junior faculty, which is a norm in the department. Our faculty have many publications in top management journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal,and many others.
