Position Description
The School of Applied Professional Studies in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Project Management to begin in the Fall 2025 semester. Expectations for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; engaging in research applicable to Project Management, practicing inclusive teaching and mentoring; and providing service to the unit, college, and university. The teaching load is typically two (2) courses per semester. Course load and composition are determined by the School Director.

This is an academic-year appointment with an expected start date of August 2025. This position is a benefits-eligible appointment with tenure implications. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Candidate must reside in Arizona or be willing to relocate.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Project Management or related field at the time of appointment.
Evidence of potential for excellence in research, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals in Project Management or related fields.
Ability to teach in immersive and digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously).
Demonstrated commitment to values expressed by the ASU Charter.
Desired Qualifications:
Graduate degree(s) from one of ASU’s peer institutions or similar.
Record of and/or potential to secure external research funding.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in graduate or undergraduate courses focused on Project Management
Research and teaching experience in Agile PM, Sustainability in PM, and Project portfolio management, among others.
Interest in establishing relationships with community and industry partners.
Research, teaching, mentoring, or service experience foregrounding intersections between Project Management and ASU’s Charter and Design Aspirations.
Current PMP certification OR ability to acquire PMP certification within one year of appointment.
