^{Position Overview:}

^{Africa Business School invites applications for the position of Professor of Management Practice (PMP) in Decision Sciences and Operations field (AI and data analytics; behavioural decision-making with applications; sustainable operations and supply chain management).}

^{This role is designed for distinguished professionals with significant leadership experience and a proven track record in undertaking complex projects. As a PMP at ABS, you will focus on teaching, designing and leading executive education programs, engaging in applied research, and contributing to the institution's outreach and engagement with the business community. Your impact on the institution's reputation, student learning, and relationships with the business community is at the core of this role. We seek individuals passionate about addressing real-world challenges in Africa through their work.}

^{We seek distinguished practitioners and leaders who possess extensive senior-level experience in industry or advisory roles and are passionate about translating their real-world expertise into impactful learning experiences, particularly addressing African business challenges. The ideal candidate(s) will have a proven track record of leadership in complex projects, a strong aptitude for executive education and mentorship, and a commitment to applied research that generates practical insights. The successful applicant will be a key contributor to enhancing the school's engagement with the business community, will primarily design and deliver high-impact executive education programs, produce practitioner-oriented research such as case studies, policy and industry reports, and actively build partnerships that enrich the professional ecosystem at ABS, aligning with the school's strategic priority of bridging academic insights with practical business solutions.}

^{Key Responsibilities:}

^{Design, develop, and deliver high-impact courses and programs, primarily at the executive education level, leveraging extensive industry experience.}
^{Lead and contribute to applied research initiatives, focusing on case studies, practitioner-oriented publications, thought leadership articles and knowledge-building outcomes relevant to the business community.}
^{Actively engage with the business community through consulting, advisory roles, and partnerships that align with strategic areas for the Business School.}
^{Translate real-world insights and professional expertise into tangible solutions and learning experiences, fostering innovation and an action-learning approach.}
^{Supervise students, particularly DBA candidates, and contribute to curriculum development that emphasizes practical application and relevance to African business contexts.}
^{Contribute significantly to the institution's outreach, reputation, and engagement with industry leaders and organizations.}
^{Participate in academic and administrative service that contributes to institutional building and the broader academic and business community.}
^{Drive practical innovation through projects, including industrial research for business application and executive program design and steering.}

^{Qualifications & Requirements :}

^{A Ph.D. or DBA from a recognized top-tier institution.}
^{A minimum of 15 years of significant leadership and/or advisory experience with a proven track record in complex, cutting-edge projects.}
^{A minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching Executive Education programs at reputable universities, business schools, or top consulting firms.}
^{Demonstrated ability to teach business students and executives with the rigor required by a university, focusing on practical application.}
^{A record of successfully completed projects relevant to the field of hiring and an ability to produce high-quality case studies and practitioner-relevant publications.}
^{Strong experience in designing and implementing high-quality executive programs.}
^{Commitment to academic service, institutional building, and engagement with the business community.}
^{Experience with real-world applications and challenges relevant to Africa is a significant plus.}
^{Ability to attract funding and lead business research projects is desirable.}
