ABOUT THE POSITION: The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for the position of Eminent Scholar in Management of Technology at the rank of Professor. We seek applicants who welcome the challenges and rewards of serving as part of a collaborative and intellectually curious faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive high-tech community.

Responsibilities: Conduct and publish high-quality scholarly research in a collegial environment where both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations are valued. Effectively teach courses in information systems, cybersecurity management, supply chain management, or analytics in graduate and undergraduate business programs in face-to-face or online modes as needed by the college. Participate in the profession, university service, and outreach to the local and global community. Foster inter- and intra-departmental collaborations. In addition to a strong commitment to develop and foster engagements with the local industry and government agencies, the successful candidate will be expected to mentor junior faculty and graduate students. Seek external funding for research where opportunities exist. Actively support enrollment growth, student engagement, and student success in the department's programs.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in information systems, supply chain management, business analytics, management science, or related business discipline is required. A Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited institution is preferred. Demonstrated success in teaching courses in the relevant subject areas in an AACSB accredited business program over at least five years is required. The Eminent Scholar in the Management of Technology must have a strong academic reputation, a track record of professional engagement in their field, and a distinguished record of publications in high-quality journals that meet the college's standards for appointment at the rank of Professor. We also prefer candidates who have a track record of fostering inter- and intra-department collaborations in research, a history building connections between industry and academia, experience creating or enhancing academic programs, a commitment of excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, a demonstrated ability to mentor junior faculty and graduate students, and the potential to expand student interest and engagement in the areas of information systems, cybersecurity management, supply chain management, or analytics. Success in obtaining external funding for research and the interest and ability to lead engagement between the department and of members in business and federal agencies in the local community are pluses.


APPOINTMENT DATE: As early as Fall 2025

ABOUT THE COLLEGE: The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International and has approximately 35 tenured, tenure-track, and clinical faculty, 30 part-time faculty, 1,050 undergraduate students, and 350 graduate students. The college offers a BSBA degree with majors in accounting, analytics, finance, information systems, management, and marketing; a BS degree in economics and computational analysis; and six graduate degrees: an MBA, and specialized master's degrees in business analytics, cybersecurity, human resource management, information systems, as well as supply chain management. UAH has been ranked by the NSF in recent years among the top 10 in the nation for federal funding of research in management and economics. The college hosts two centers and one office that provide outreach, service, and engagement with the greater community.
